New Design of 24 mixed-income apartments along with three work-live units off streetfront. The retail component of the facility includes a local produce marketplace along with a preparation kitchen. Parking is provided within the building at grade.
The site is “V”-shaped and posed special geometric challenges for the unit layout and parking structure all of which came together structurally. Barrientos Design was to successfully address this with a parking structure that fits within the tower wings of the housing so to not interfere with the residential structure.
The site, located on Mitchell street, is on a historic and traditional main street which was vibrant in the mid-century. Our architectural statement address this through vertical demarcation of colonnades, bays and windows.
